Launch a Career in Healthcare as a Patient Care Technician

Healthcare is one of our region’s fastest growing job sectors, with opportunities in many areas – including positions for Patient Care Technicians, a new category of healthcare worker trained to perform a variety of patient care services.

Gwinnett Technical College now offers specialized training for Patient Care Technicians, designed for those eager to enter the healthcare field and for current technicians who want to advance their job skills.  Our training program and course work meets the necessary requirements for those who wish to take the National Healthcareer Association (NHA) – Certified Patient Care Technician (CPCT); Certified Nurse Technician (CNT); and/or Certified Patient Care Associate (CPCA) national certification exams

Patient Care Technicians are in-demand – and work in hospitals, clinics, rehabilitation centers, long term care facilities, physician offices and assisted living facilities. These healthcare pros must possess the technical skills to handle complex patient care issues. Through a combination of lecture and labs, this program provides the skills a technician will need to perform at the highest level.
